Dear Colleagues,

As we approach the end of another year, 2013 has been a very active and successful year for SPE.

SPE events are not only valuable for knowledge sharing and learning but for networking and meeting your industry peers. I would like to take the opportunity to inform you about the successful events that took place in the region. This year the region hosted 7 multidisciplinary conferences with more than 6000 delegates from across 30 counties, 27 workshops, and a forum discussing upcoming technologies in the industry.

Furthermore, as you all know the largest multi-society, multidisciplinary oil and gas event in the Eastern hemisphere, the 7th International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC) is round the corner, I would like to invite you all to be a part and visit the SPE booth at hall #3, stand #G18.

For those members who are yet to renew their membership, time is running out as the December deadline approaches. Renew your membership today to continue enjoying the many benefits. For any queries with regards to login information, membership status, mailing address update, please contact Sally Al Kafaji at salkafaji@spe.org or call +971.4.457.5842.

Dear Colleagues,

As the new Regional Director for SPE in South Asia for the year 2014, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Board of SPE for their support in creation of this region and entrusting me with this important appointment. I have no doubt that with continuous support of SPE board and members of this region I will be able serve SPE community and further promote activities of SPE in this region through South Asia region which could be created after relentless efforts of three years.

My immediate priority would be to reach out to all of you to share my vision to make a prominent place for this region among other regions of SPE. To achieve this, it would be important to launch an aggressive membership drive and retain existing members through timely renewal. For those members who are yet to renew their membership, time is running out as the December deadline approaches. Renew your membership today to continue enjoying the benefits as a member. For any queries with regards to login information, membership status, mailing address update, please contacts Sally Al Kafaji at salkafaji@spe.org or call +971.4.457.5842.

Coming to the end of the year, 2013 has been a very active and successful year for SPE. I would like to highlight upon the success of the 6th edition of the SPE workshop on Deepwater that took place during 18–20 November at Mumbai, India. This year, over 140 delegates representing 38 companies across 11 countries participated at this workshop. Prior to this we had another successful ATW on “Marginal fields” at Goa, India which again was attended by large number of delegates and speakers.

Furthermore, as you all know the largest multi-society, multidisciplinary oil and gas event in the Eastern hemisphere, the 7th International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC) is round the corner, I would like to invite you all to be a part and visit the SPE booth at hall 3, stand G18

I wish you a prosperous new year 2014 filled with peace and joy. You are most welcome to share the initiatives and forward your suggestions for making this forum more interactive & professionally rewarding.
