Janeen Judah Selected as 2017 President of Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE)

Richardson, Texas, USA (18 June 2015) – The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) has selected Janeen Judah, General Manager for Chevron’s Southern Africa Business Unit, as 2017 president of the international professional society. Judah, who is based in Houston, Texas, will take office as president-elect on 30 September 2015 at the close of SPE’s Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition in Houston, Texas USA.

(HOUSTON, 7 May, 2015) – Responding to the recent downturn in the oil and gas industry, the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) has launched a free, global jobs page for its members connecting them with more than 10,000 upstream opportunities. Formed as a collaboration with Oilpro.com, this online resource allows SPE members to search and link to job offerings directly from the SPE website.

“SPE 2.0 means that we are agile and respond quickly to member needs as the industrial landscape moves – like it has now,” said 2015 SPE President Helge Hove Haldorsen. “It is our mission to serve our members in every capacity possible. This collaboration with Oilpro, develops a comprehensive jobs search engine to help members find the latest opportunities in the oil and gas industry.”

David Kent, Oilpro Co-Founder, said “We are excited to be working with SPE to help their members find new opportunities during these challenging times. HOUSTON, USA (6 MAY 2015) – The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) releases a technical report based on work done at a Worst-Case Discharge (WCD) Summit in March of 2014. The summit was attended by 68 subject matter experts with the goal of improving the methods of calculating and reporting WCD of oil or gas to the environment resulting from a loss of control (a blowout) during open-hole drilling.

Houston, Texas USA (4, February, 2015) – At the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Hydraulic Fracturing Technical Conference today the 2015 Legend of Hydraulic Fracturing Award was given to Dr. Heber Cinco-Ley in recognition for his significant contributions to the technology over a lifetime of work. SPE 2014 President Jeff Spath presented the award to Dr. Cinco-Ley noting his 40-year professional career where he authored more than 100 technical works, was the founding president of the SPE Mexican chapter, received SPE’s Lester C. Uren award, and served in academia and many companies.

The Inaugural SPE CTCE Successfully Offered Technical Knowledge Sharing in Kazakhstan
