Nominations being accepted for intervention technology award
7 January 2009 in SPE News
The Intervention and Coiled Tubing Association (ICoTA) is now accepting nominations and entries for the 3rd Annual Intervention Technology Award. The award, which recognizes outstanding technical innovation or technology application in well intervention, will be presented at the SPE/ICoTA Coiled Tubing and Well Intervention Conference and Exhibition later this year.
Judged by industry peers, the award goes to a technology that demonstrates reduced risk, increased production, improved safety, or minimized environmental impact. In order to be considered, candidates must have employed the technology during well intervention operations during the last 18 months. For a new technology, candidates must indicate how it distinguishes itself from existing technologies. In the case of a new application of existing technology, the candidate must demonstrate how the novel application benefitted well intervention operations.
ICoTA will announce the winner at this year’s well intervention conference, which takes place 31 March–1 April in The Woodlands, Texas. Past winners of the award are TecWel for its Well Leak Detector and Baker Atlas for its Gasview Service.
The deadline for entries and nominations is 13 February 2009.
