The students of this chapter solved membership problems by appointing team representatives to update new members on all activities available and assist them with the registration process. This has resulted in the chapter having close to 400 current members. They have sponsored an inter-college football tournament; conducted campus cleaning drives; began work on a video conferencing facility; conducted a panel discussion on Climate Change; participated in the regional student paper contest; conducted Petrowalk (an event to educate young students about SPE and petroleum engineering); and many other events.
Students of ISM Student Chapter have hosted guest lecturers: Mrs. Archana Kumar, who spoke about the importance and impact of post graduation on a petroleum engineer’s career; Professor Prabir Daripa, who spoke on “The effect of chemicals on porous medium during EOR”; and Mr. Vikas Kumar, who spoke on “Practical Aspects of Wire Line Formation Testing and Well Testing”.
One of their goals is to increase the number of students sent to conferences and competitions in order to increase student interaction with global chapters.
Indian School of Mines Student Chapter is doing an excellent job! Once again, congratulations!
