SPE Ecuador offers technical conference

In order to promote the knowledge and encourage the development and use of technologies to improve the productivity and recovery of oil fields in the country, the International Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Ecuador Section, under the direction of Engineer Italo Cedeño, organized the SPE Conference Ecuador on Enhanced Oil Recovery.

The conference, sponsored by Schlumberger and supported by the Hydrocarbons Industry Association of Ecuador (AIHE), was held with the participation of two international experts from Schlumberger and members of the SPE: José Luis Bashbush, Ph.D., Director of the Regional Technological Centre of Mexico, and José G. Flores, Ph. D., Director of Enhanced Recovery for Latin America.  Similarly, Eng. Jorge Glas Espinel, Coordinating Minister for Strategic Sectors of Ecuador, gave a speech.

The event took place 16  January and more than 300 people attended, including professionals from private and public companies, State institutions and university students. One of the purposes of SPE Sections is to motivate, inspire and educate in order to improve the technical and professional competence of its members; therefore, all workers of the industry are invited to become active members of SPE Ecuador Section.
