On February 9, an ambassador lecture was organized for the benefit of student members at the Memorial University of Newfoundland. Young professional Oloruntobi Sunday Olalere, who has more than 6 years experience as a drilling engineer and is now a drilling supervisor with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), delivered the lecture.

The title of the lecture was “Life on the Rig”. Olalere covered the basis of drilling operations, the different types of drill rigs in use today and relationships between operators, drilling contractors and service companies. Students found the life examples of drilling operations to be the most informative.

It was a successful event, and the students greatly benefited from the lecture.
