The 2012 SPE Western Regional Student Paper Contest was held in conjunction with the 2012 WNAR SPE conference on March 20th 2012 in Bakersfield, California. Dr. Reza Rastegar from Chevron served as the coordinator for this event. Various SPE sections stepped forward to provide travel and housing sponsorship for students from various schools to attend the contest and the convention.
