SPE UNIBADAN is the February Chapter of the Month

The chapter also has recently organized a Catch Them Young Program by visiting the Christ Ambassador International College, ibadan Oyo state, Nigeria on 13 December. Dundee University student chapter travels to TOTAL's UK headquarters

The Society of Petroleum Engineers Student Chapter of the Centre for cepmlp-academic-visit-to-total_thumbnail2Energy of Dundee University attended the Universities Open Day at TOTAL’s UK headquarters having the chance to learn more about North Sea E&P challenges and shake hands with key managers from this leading industry. I-Tech high-tech field trip

Members of the Istanbul Technical University SPE Student Chapter took a 3-day tour of the Denizli Geothermal Field recently, and were told of the variety of uses for geothermal energy, which is usually exploited using E&P technology. Geothermal wells, for instance, are currently used to generate electricity, heat buildings, and provide hot water to hotels and homes.

Texas A&M chapter takes a field trip

The Texas A&M student chapter took a field trip Saturday, 17 November. Employees from ConocoPhillips took a group of 20 petroleum engineering students and 15 mechanical engineering students to tour their Bossier field. Students had a chance to observe drilling operations, meet with engineers, and tour the production facilities. Continue reading

The Texas A&M student chapter took a field trip Saturday, 17 November. Employees from ConocoPhillips took a group of 20 petroleum engineering students and 15 mechanical engineering students to tour their Bossier field. Texas A&M SPE Hosts Sporting Clay Tournament

sc_tourneyThe Texas A&M student chapter hosted a sporting clay tournament on Saturday, 13 October. The event served as the primary fundraising effort for this year’s ATCE trip to Anaheim, CA. The funds raised will cover a significant portion of the transportation and hotel costs for the 90 junior, senior, and graduate students who plan to attend the conference. The tournament was held at Gunsmoke Shooting Range in Snook, TX, and consisted of 25 competing teams. Teams were made up of three company representatives and two students in an effort to promote networking between industry and the students of the Texas A&M petroleum engineering department. The tournament was organized by petroleum engineering seniors Natalie Allert, Christian Click, Stephanie Currie, and Hunter Wallace.
