SPE Fourth International Conference on Oilfield Corrosion

27 May 2008
Aberdeen, UK

Extending Field Life: Mid-Life Crisis or Life Support?

Assessing the condition of existing facilities that are approaching or have already passed their originally planned decommissioning date is a challenge. Applying the often more stringent mitigation controls required to extend the life of these facilities is even more challenging.

The International Conference on Oilfield Corrosion will address these challenges with oral and poster presentations on the following topics:

  • Operator and Supplier Case Histories
  • Emerging Technologies for Monitoring and Mitigation
  • Extending Performance Envelopes of Existing Technology
  • Corrosion Inhibitor Performance
  • Materials
  • Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion
  • Economics of Corrosion Management and Control
  • Integrity Assessment of Aging Assets

A poster session has been arranged providing an ideal medium for summarising technical work and R&D projects, particularly for post graduate students. A sponsored prize will be awarded the best student poster presentation.

Are you interested in both corrosion and scale issues?

In association with the SPE Fourth International Conference on Oilfield Corrosion, a Corrosion workshop will be presented on Monday 26th May; “Corrosion for the Non-Corrosion Engineer”. Thereafter, the Conference will be immediately followed by the SPE Ninth International Conference on Oilfield Scale. For more information, visit the International Oilfield Scale website.
