To check the status of a submitted paper, login to the journal site for which your paper is undergoing review, then click on Author Center.
Note: SPE has changed its style for the names of SPE journals in references. This change was made to assure that SPE's journals are more readily identified by individuals and organizations outside of our industry. This is important for things like Cross-Ref DOIs and impact factor calculations.
SPE's journals welcome submissions directly for peer review, as well as manuscripts from SPE meetings. Be certain that your paper is suitable for peer review and that you select the appropriate journal for your paper based on technical focus. Format your paper according to the guidelines and gather the necessary information prior to submission.
Submit a manuscript for peer review
As part of the peer review process, authors may be asked to revise their papers. Authors commit to making these revisions in a timely manner. If your manuscript is accepted for publication, it will be edited by professional SPE editors prior to publication.
SPE's journals accept only 20-30% of papers submitted for review for final publication.
SPE has been working to improve the timeliness of peer review. On 1 July 2009, SPE began using a new online peer review management system designed to improve the turnaround time on manuscripts in review.
