How to Order Reprints of SPE Materials

After a paper is published in one of SPE's journals, authors or their companies sometimes want professionally reprinted copies with a cover that they can distribute to customers or others. Or perhaps your company is looking for copies of an article or paper from JPT about your company or written by an employee. In either case, the process for ordering reprints through SPE is the same.

Requirements

• You must comply with SPE's permissions policy and pay any applicable fees

Information to Supply

• Paper or article titles, numbers, other identifying information, including where published
• Number of copies desired (the minimum order is 200 copies)
• Black and white or color copies (estimates for both can be provided, if desired)
• Whether a cover is desired, and if so, what information is desired on the cover. [Additional costs of USD 85 may apply for preparing the cover]
  • Cover of the journal in which the article was printed
  • Cover sheet with title of article, authors, etc.
  • Company logo on front or back cover
• Where copies are to be delivered (for calculation of shipping costs)

Requesting Reprints

Send the above information, along with your contact information (email, phone) to books@spe.org. Or, if you need permissions as well, you can combine the information for your permissions and reprints requests in a single email to permissions@spe.org.

Once your request is received, you will be contacted for any clarifications and an estimated cost will be provided. At that point you can decide whether to proceed with the order based on the cost estimate provided and arrange for payment of applicable costs (advance payment is required). Please allow 2 weeks for reprints to be printed and shipped. The time required for shipping will depend on the delivery location.

What if I Need Fewer Than 200 Copies?

Preparation of reprints by SPE require a minimum order or 200 copies. With appropriate permission, you can produce smaller quantities yourself.
