




SPE Foundation
The SPE Foundation, composed of former SPE presidents, is dedicated to generating funds to support and augment key society programs, including Distinguished Lecturers, scholarships, continuing education, technical publications, textbook development, and electronic publishing. Established in 1977, the SPE Foundation works to supplement normal funding capabilities for key SPE programs in order to ensure excellence in these programs through a partnership among individuals, industry, and the society.

Moving Forward, Giving Back...Supporting Your SPE
For more than 30 years, the SPE Foundation has played an important role in supporting SPE programs and services. Now, we are renewing our efforts to establish a tradition among SPE members of helping secure the future of our society. Moving Forward, Giving Back provides an ongoing opportunity for members to join in this effort.
Omega Association
The Omega Association was established by the SPE Foundation in 1999 to recognize those friends of SPE who have made provisions for a planned gift, or have contributed USD 10,000 or more to the society through the SPE Foundation.
Contributors to Tomorrow's SPE
In a year-long campaign that ended in December 2005, the SPE Foundation, in a joint project with SPE, raised USD 6.6 Million to upgrade the capabilities of the SPE website. This section recognizes the generous individual, corporate, and section donors.
Gus Archie Scholarships
The Gus Archie Memorial Scholarship is supported by the Archie Fund of the SPE Foundation. Each year the SPE Foundation, working through the SPE Section Scholarship Support Program, as well as working with individual applicants, awards the Archie Scholarship to the most outstanding incoming first-time university student. The curriculum must lead to an undergraduate degree in petroleum engineering.
Nico van Wingen Memorial Graduate Fellowship in Petrolum Engineering
The Nico van Wingen Memorial Graduate Fellowship in Petroleum Engineering is supported by the van Wingen fund of the SPE Foundation. Up to two awards will be given in the amount of US $5,000 each per year. Eligible students must be members of an official SPE Student Chapter and must be at the Ph.D. level intending to pursue careers in academia.
