Governance

Many entities and programs work together to achieve the mission of SPE. Each is codified in either the SPE International Constitution, various policies and procedures documents, or the Long-Range Plan. In this section are links to all the documents that pertain to the structure and operations of SPE. Mission

SPE's Mission, Vision, and Value Statements are the principles upon which the Society is founded.  They guide the breadth and depth of SPE activities.

History

From a committee of mining engineers in the 19th century, to today's worldwide organization, SPE's history is a remarkable story that parallels the growth and diversity of the upstream oil and gas industry.

Providing SPE members equal access to all member benefits regardless of location is one of four goals of OneSPE.

Long-Range Plan

Every 5 to 10 years, an hoc committee of industry experts, veterans, and young professionals assesses the strategic direction of SPE. The current Long-Range Plan was approved in August 2006, and covers 2005-2010.
