The SPE Management and Information Award recognizes outstanding achievements in or contributions to the advancement of management and information in the industry. This award was formerly known as the Economics and Evaluation Award.
Criteria
The Management and Information Award of the Society of Petroleum Engineers recognizes outstanding achievement or contributions to the advancement of petroleum engineering in the field of management and information.
- This technical discipline includes:
- Enterprise – Management Issues
- Management Systems
- Management Techniques
- Project Management
- Education, Training and Professionalism
- Personnel Competence
- Information Systems and Use
- The candidate must be a living member of SPE
- The death of a candidate after May 1 does not render them ineligible during that year; the award may be presented posthumously in this case.
- The award may be presented to a group for truly outstanding achievements, but preference is given to individual awards
- Recipients of the John Franklin Carll Award, Lester C. Uren Award, DeGolyer Distinguished Service Medal, or Anthony F. Lucas Gold Medal are not eligible for this award.
- Current SPE Board of Directors, Management and Information award committee members, and those who have served in these positions during the past 2 years are not eligible.
- Candidates remain on the active consideration list for 3 years.
- If a candidate is not selected during the 3-year active consideration cycle, they can be renominated the following year if all other eligibility requirements are met.
