Reservoir Description and Dynamics Award

The Reservoir Description and Dynamics Award recognizes outstanding achievements in or contributions to the advancement of petroleum engineering in the area of reservoir description and dynamics. This award was formerly knows as the Reservoir Engineering Award.

Criteria

The Reservoir Description and Dynamics Award recognizes outstanding achievement or contributions to the advancement of petroleum engineering in the area of reservoir technology.

  • The candidate must be a living member of SPE
  • The death of a candidate before board approval does not render them ineligible during that year; the award may be presented posthumously in this case.
  • The award may be presented to a group for truly outstanding achievements, but preference is given to individual awards
  • Recipients of the John Franklin Carll Award, Lester C. Uren Award, DeGolyer Distinguished Service Medal, or Anthony F. Lucas Gold Medal are not eligible for this award.
  • Current SPE Board of Directors, Reservoir Description and Dynamics award committee members, and those who have served in these positions during the past 2 years are not eligible.
  • Candidates remain on the active consideration list for 3 years.
  • If a candidate is not selected during the 3-year active consideration cycle, they can be renominated the following year if all other eligibility requirements are met.
