Young Member Outstanding Service Award

Nominate | Recipients |Other awards

The SPE Young Member Outstanding Service Award recognizes contributions to and leadership in public and community matters, the Society, the petroleum engineering profession, and/or the petroleum industry. No award shall be given solely on the basis of a nominee's contributions to SPE, the petroleum engineering profession, or the petroleum industry. SPE members under the age of 36 during the year of presentation are eligible for consideration.

Criteria

The Young Member Outstanding Service Award recognizes contributions and leadership to the public and the community, with respect to local custom, as well as to the Society of Petroleum Engineers, the profession of petroleum engineering, or the petroleum industry. The award is intended to encourage interests among the young members of the Society that are broader than the profession.

  • This award will not be presented solely on the basis of a candidate's contribution to the Society, the profession of petroleum engineering, or the petroleum industry.
  • The candidate must be a living member of SPE.
  • The death of a candidate after May 1 does not render them ineligible during that year; the award may be presented posthumously in this case.
  • The candidate must under the age of 36 during the year of presentation of the award.
  • Current SPE Board of Directors, Young Member Outstanding Service award committee members and those who have served in these positions during the past 2 years are not eligible.
  • Candidates remain on the active consideration list for 3 years, unless they no longer meet the age requirement for the award.
  • If a candidate is not selected during the 3-year active consideration cycle, they can be re-nominated the following year if all other eligibility requirements are met.
