New Online Resource for Locating and Listing E&P Training Offerings

HOUSTON, Texas, U.S.A. (27 September 2004) – The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) announces the launch of Training Marketplace, a new online service for locating and listing E&P industry training courses. This service provides a single source for finding both technical courses and professional development training aimed at oil and gas professionals.

Career professionals have complimentary access to the database of industry relevant course listings, readily accessible by easy search techniques. In addition to the course listings, SPE's Training Marketplace provides links to the training providers' Web sites for more detailed information and course registration.

"Because SPE.org is one of the oil and gas industry's most visited and recognized sites, we are pleased to have our Online Continuing Education Courses for Professional Engineers listed on the Web site," said Gordan Feric, R&D Engineer at Engineering Software. "Training Marketplace makes it very convenient to reach out on a worldwide basis to the oil and gas community and provides another option in meeting career development requirements."

Training providers may list up to 200 instructor-led or web-based courses. Each listing includes course name, course description, Web links, cost, instructor and suggested attendees. Courses may vary from online to onsite to designated locations. For training providers, cost to participate depends on the number of courses listed.

Training Marketplace is available to both SPE members and nonmembers and, as such, serves a broad market of targeted and qualified industry professionals.
