Staying in Contact with Former Colleagues
Did you previously work for a medium to large oil and gas or service company? Perhaps a company that "disappeared" in one of the mega-mergers? Have you ever wondered what happened to your co-workers from that company?
Now you can find out through Alumni in Touch, a free networking service that offers company-centered online communities. Alumni in Touch was organized by former ARCO employees and has numerous oil and gas company communities, including (but not limited to):
Community members can search for former colleagues, input information about their current career, participate in reunions, post to and review bulletin board discussions, and many other activities. The size of each community varies, based on the number of people who have joined, but at least one community has more than 3,300 members.
SPE is offering a link to this free service to expand the networking opportunities of oil and gas professionals. As a result of SPE's partnering with Alumni in Touch, SPE members can have free access to premium site services – normally a $6.95/quarter value. [When completing the membership application, indicate that you heard about the service through SPE. This will give you premium level access.] For more information, visit Alumni in Touch.
