The Mid-Continent Section, based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is SPE's oldest. The section recently produced this documentary in celebration of its 90th anniversary in 2008. (See below for more section news.)

73 sections provide nearly USD 1 million for education

- Section scholarship support during 2006-2007 increased by more than 30%, reaching more than USD 950,000. This includes funding for scholarships and for educational outreach programs. The top 10 sections accounted for 60% of the total. The top contributors are: Gulf Coast, London, Permian Basin, Evangeline, Aberdeen, Denver, Canadian, Alaska, Dallas, Oklahoma City.
