Ambassador Lecturer Program

The Ambassador Lecturer Program is designed to connect university students with the oil and gas industry through programs and lectures presented by young professionals in the industry less than 10 years. These programs are presented to SPE Student Chapters, and range in scope from cutting-edge technology to the social and environmental responsibilities of all who work in the E&P industry.

The program aims to present the vision of SPE and provide an opportunity for students to hear a young engineer’s perspective on issues confronting the industry. These formalized presentations also offer a support structure that encourages young professionals to take an active leadership and volunteer role in SPE. The program also provides an avenue for recognition by SPE, colleagues, and industry leaders.

Besides benefiting students, the program provides lecturers with an opportunity to share experiences and skills gained through work, acquire leadership experience, and hone public speaking skills.

A call for lecturers is issued each September.  Student chapters are also given the opportunity to request a visit from an Ambassador Lecturer each September.
