William Burton, SPE, was named Vice President of Sales and Operations for Western Hemisphere–North for Varel Intl. He joined the company in 1999 as Area Manager for the western U.S. and was promoted to Vice President of Sales–Western Hemisphere in 2001.
Claus Chur, SPE, was elected 2006 Chairman of the Intl. Assn. of Drilling Contractors (IADC). Chur is a member of the KCA Deutag Board of Directors. Scott Gordon, SPE, Vice President of Unit Drilling Corp., was named IADC Vice President–Land Div., and Darrell Johnson, SPE, Vice President of Weatherford Intl., was appointed IADC Vice President– Drilling Services Div.
Glen Mizenko, SPE, was named Vice President of Business Development for Forest Oil. He joined the company in 2001 as Director of Business Development.
Alison Whiteley, SPE, joined Dominion E&P as Managing Director of Planning and Engineering. Previously, she was Senior Manager of Business Development for EOG Resources and held engineering positions with Chevron, Tenneco, and Marathon.
