Mark Carne, SPE, was named BG Group Executive Vice President and Managing Director for Europe and Central Asia. Before joining the company, he held a number of positions with Shell.
Craig Ivie, SPE, was named Director of Roller Cone Engineering at ReedHycalog. He earned a BS degree in engineering science from Montana Tech.
Adam Farris, SPE, was promoted to Vice President of Technology Adoption for Object Reservoir Inc. He will lead software development and training teams focused on the company’s customers and users. Farris, who has a decade of industry experience in geology, petrophysics, drilling, completions, production operations, and reservoir engineering, joined Object Reservoir in 2005 as Accounts General Manager. Before his position with Object Reservoir, he was Account Leader at Landmark Graphics Corp. Farris earned a BS degree in chemistry from St. Edward’s U. in Austin.
Jonathan Lewis, SPE, was named Chairman of the Petrotechnical Open Standards Consortium. He is Vice President of Innovation and Marketing for Halliburton Digital and Consulting Solutions.
Charles
Middleton, SPE, was named a partner in the Louisiana law firm of Rowe &
Middleton, a firm specializing in oilfield, oilfield-related intellectual
property law, and oil and gas royalty litigation. Previously, he was a
litigating attorney for Oats and Hudson. Middleton earned a law degree from the
Mississippi College School of Law and holds undergraduate degrees in petroleum
engineering and technology from Louisiana Tech U. and business management from
the U. of Louisiana at Monroe.
Bruce Palmer, SPE, joined Ryder Scott as a petroleum engineer. He previously worked at ExxonMobil Production Co. Palmer earned BS and MS degrees in chemical engineering from Brigham Young U.
Gary Prehoda, SPE, was appointed Global Director of Sales for Enventure Global Technology. He brings more than 33 years of oil and gas experience in service, sales, and engineering and has worked for Schlumberger and Marathon. Prehoda earned a BS degree in petroleum engineering from the U. of Wyoming.
Michael
Wiggins, an SPE Distinguished Member, was promoted to Vice President of
William M. Cobb and Assocs. Before this appointment, he was a professor of
petroleum and geological engineering at the U. of Oklahoma. Wiggins has
industry experience with major and independent E&P companies and holds BS,
MEng, and PhD degrees in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M U.
Wiggins has served on the SPE Board of Directors. In addition, he has served as Executive Editor for SPE Production and Facilities and was the General Chairman for the 2003 Production and Operations Symposium.
