People

Alan Baker, SPE, was appointed to the Natural Gas Services Group Board of Directors. Having previously served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Halliburton’s Energy Services Group, he is now a consultant. Baker earned a BS degree in petroleum engineering from Marietta College.

Kevin Burton, SPE, was named Vice President–Technology for Acteon. He earned a BS degree with honors in mechanical engineering and has served in various senior management roles with Acteon since 1995.

Boris Cura, SPE, was named Intl. Vice President–Western Hemisphere for Key Energy. He earned a BS degree in -production engineering from EAFIT U. in Colombia and an MS degree in systems engineering from Ohio U.

Greg Shanks, SPE, was named Vice President of Corporate Procurement for the company. He earned a BS degree in petroleum engineering from the U. of Tulsa.

Kurt McCaslin, SPE, was named Managing Director of Brazil operations for Kerr-McGee. His responsibilities include development of the Chinook field offshore Brazil. McCaslin, who has 26 years of experience in international settings, earned a BS degree in petroleum engineering from the U. of Texas at Austin.

Javan Ottoson, SPE, joined Energy Partners Ltd. as Senior Vice President of Drilling and Engineering. Before this appointment, he was Permian Asset Development Manager for Chevron. Ottoson earned a BS degree in chemical and petroleum refining engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.

Eivind Torheim, SPE, was named Manager of Production and Development for Revus Energy. Having earned a BS degree in petroleum engineering from the U. of Stavanger, he previously worked for Norske Shell, Enterprise Oil Norge, Western Atlas, and Elf Aquitaine Norge.
