Ibrahim Abou-Sayed, SPE, joined Advantek Intl. Corp. as Vice President and Managing Director of the Middle East Region.  Abou-Sayed, who brings with him more than 25 years of oil and gas industry experience including the last 21 years with ExxonMobil, will lead Advantek’s efforts in well-productivity enhancement and optimization. Abou-Sayed earned a BS degree in civil engineering from Cairo U. and MS and PhD degrees in engineering mechanics from Brown U.

Patrick McKinney, SPE, was named Senior Vice President–Engineering and Operations for Cano Petroleum. He joined the company in 2006 as Vice President–Engineering and Business Development after serving as Worldwide Portfolio Manager for Pioneer Natural Resources and working for 17 years with Union Pacific Corp. McKinney earned a BS degree in petroleum engineering from the U. of Wyoming and an MBA degree from Pepperdine U.

ConocoPhillips made changes to the E&P senior management team. Kevin Meyers, SPE, was named President of ConocoPhillips Canada. Don Wallette, SPE, was named President–Russia and Caspian region. Paul Warwick, SPE, was named President–Europe and West Africa.

 

Umberto Micheli, SPE, was named Region Manager for BJ Services Well Services–Europe and Africa. Micheli has more than 26 years of experience in the oilfield service industry.

Alexander Parks, SPE, was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Otto Energy Ltd. Before this appointment, he held senior management positions with Troy-Ikoda Australasia and RPS Energy. Parks earned an MEng degree from Imperial College, London.

Christopher Seaver, SPE, was elected Chairman of the Board of Hydril. He has served as CEO and as a director of the company since 1997 and as President since 1993. Seaver joined Hydril in 1985 and earned J.D. and MBA degrees from Stanford U.

Bruce Wood, SPE, joined Australian Worldwide Exploration Ltd. as Executive Director–Business Development. His industry experience includes positions with BHP Petroleum, Shell, Triton Energy, his own consultancy Gas Strategies, and Santos, and being CEO of Delhi Petroleum.
