BJ Services announced two appointments. Alasdair Buchanan, SPE, was named Vice President–International Pressure Pumping Operations. Before this appointment, he was Vice President–Technology and Logistics for BJ Services. Buchanan has been with the company for 24 years. Jeff Hibbeler, SPE, was named Vice President–Technology and Logistics. Before this appointment, he was Region Manager for BJ Services Asia Pacific operations. Hibbeler has been with the company for 17 years.

Donald F. Duttlinger, SPE, was named China Country Manager and President of Far East Energy. Before this appointment, he was Executive Director of the Petroleum Technology Transfer Council. Duttlinger earned an MBA degree focused in international business from Louisiana State University and a BS degree in construction engineering and management from Purdue University.

Scott Hanson, SPE, will head the new Oil and Gas Customer Center for 3M Oil and Gas. Before this appointment, he held several positions with 3M Consumer and Office. Hanson earned an MS degree in engineering management and an MBA from Northwestern University, as well as a BS degree in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Wisconsin.

Derek Mathieson, SPE, was named President and Chief Executive Officer of WellDynamics. Before this appointment, he was Vice President, Business Development and Technology, for WellDynamics. Mathieson earned PhD and BS degrees in engineering from Heriot-Watt University.

Stephen O’Rourke, SPE, was named President Exploration for BHP Billiton Petroleum. Before this appointment, he was Vice President of Development Planning for BHP Billiton Petroleum. O’Rourke graduated from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and the Wharton School’s Advanced Management Training Program at the University of Pennsylvania.
