Steven Bryant, SPE, is an associate professor in the
Department of Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering at the University of Texas
at Austin, where he holds the George H. Fancher Centennial Teaching Fellowship
in Petroleum Engineering. Bryant served as an SPE Distinguished Lecturer
2001–02. His current research efforts range from grain-scale models of
geological processes to the role of methane hydrates in the Earth’s carbon
cycle. Bryant has published more than 60 papers and one textbook with
applications in production engineering, reservoir engineering, and formation
evaluation.
