Stimulating Shale Reservoirs

18-19 March 2008
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania USA

Registration is now closed for this event, and there will be no onsite registration.

Stimulation successes in the Barnett, Woodford, and Fayetteville shale plays has led to increased interest in similar reservoirs throughout the Appalachian Basin. Many of these undeveloped shale reservoirs are being examined for their potential, however there is limited understanding of a successful universal method to stimulate such plays in this region. The key challenge is to explore the best method of propagating and connecting natural fracture networks, thereby establishing a flow channel to the wellbore. High oil and gas prices coupled with improved completion technologies have made these unconventional resources increasingly valuable.

This Regional Technology Workshop is designed for industry leaders, practicing engineers, and operators to gather in an interactive environment to transfer technologies and concepts and to discuss methods that can be utilized to increase the success rate of shale stimulation.
