Innovations in data management and security

The energy industry is at the start of a renaissance – a “sea change” driven by the rise of national oil companies and countries as primary asset holders, the increase in globalization of E&P, and the need to recruit and integrate the best minds from diverse cultures.

As the energy industry enters a revitalization of technology and innovation, Digital Energy 2007 brings together hundreds of E&P professionals and IT experts to explore cutting-edge applications that will enhance business performance.

The program committee has carefully selected 53 high quality papers to be presented at the conference. The 2-day event will feature presentations and discussions on the following:

  • Using, integrating, and managing data to make the best possible decisions
  • The need to adopt new technologies to prepare for the retirement of an aging workforce
  • How technology and associated processes will help us find and produce hydrocarbons in increasingly hostile and difficult conditions
  • Cybersecurity: keeping our data secure yet enabling more open collaboration

Wednesday’s technical program includes panel sessions on Securing the Digital Oil Field and Security Architecture – Removing the Perimeter.

On Thursday, the technical program features four concurrent Lunch and Learn sessions including topics on emergency preparedness, predictive analytics, the renaissance engineer, high performance computing, whole earth models, and G&G technology.
