Dear Colleague,
On behalf of the Intelligent Energy 2008 Programme Committee it gives me great pleasure to invite you to submit a paper proposal for the 2nd International Intelligent Energy Conference.
The first event held in 2006 concentrated on providing delegates with a global perspective of the latest technological developments and their application to realise real operational and commercial benefits. Now, at our second event, we aim to both deepen and broaden our knowledge of what digital technologies have been successfully applied by referring to case studies taken from across the core processes of production, drilling and reservoir management. We will also look at what new innovations are on the horizon that will continue to bring new opportunities and advantages.
As we all know the growth and successful application of digital technologies is revolutionising the oil and gas industry, making real time data available across geographical boundaries to facilitate collaborative working and enable scarce high value expertise to be used more effectively. However the application of these digital technologies is not only about the integration of the technology itself, but also the fact that the new capabilities it brings means we can revolutionise the way we work. For example,
The key to realising the potential from the integration of these real time data and information technologies lies in understanding and appreciating the capabilities they bring, the rapid transfer of experience and learnings, as well as paying sufficient attention to people, process and organisational change issues.
The conference would therefore be pleased to receive papers in the three categories of...
In addition to making submissions under these headings, we would like the papers to address the themes of: Enablers, Integration, and Innovation as detailed in the “Technical Categories” section.
It goes without saying that the success of any conference is wholly dependent upon the papers submitted by the authors in order to promote learning, and stimulate discussion and debate. We therefore look forward to welcoming your submission, and finally would like to take this opportunity to thank you personally for your interest in our conference and for your active participation in an activity that is transforming our industry, and revolutionising the way we work together.
Look forward to seeing you in 2008.
Regards,
Tony Edwards
