Student Membership Benefits

  • SPE is one of the most prestigious technical/professional organizations in the world and being an SPE Student Member is considered a noteworthy achievement by industry professionals and executives.
  • Student membership provides students the opportunity to meet practicing professionals and active members in industry while still attending school.
  • Student Members may attend Society-sponsored meetings, conferences, and sections meetings at a reduced price or free of charge.
  • Student Members receive a subscription to JPT Online, a monthly electronic technical journal. Offering free, round-the-clock access, JPT Online is a reliable, up-to-date and consistent source of industry-related information for E&P students and young professionals.
  • Student Members receive substantial discounts on textbooks, reference books, and other Society publications.
  • Student Members may apply for financial assistance from Society-sponsored scholarship programs. Nearly a quarter of a million dollars is awarded each year.
  • Student Members are automatically upgraded to corporate member status the year of graduation.

Sponsorship Program

SPE is pleased to announce that Chevron Corporation is the new sponsor of the Student Sponsorship Program for 2008 and 2009. Under this program:

  • Chevron will pay the dues of any SPE Student Member if the Student Member so elects.
  • Information about you contained in SPE’s records will be sent by SPE to Chevron if you elect to participate.
