Changing Status from Student to Full Member
Once student members have secured employment within the industry, they are eligible to change their membership status from student member to full member. There are two steps to this process:
- Go to your membership profile online and update your graduation, employment, and contact information
- Contact SPE, provide your member number (or email address on your record) and tell us that you would like to change your status
Completing only the first step is not sufficient to change your status. It is necessary for someone on the SPE staff to change the database field that indicates your membership status. So don't forget to complete step 2 to assure that you are recognized as a full member of SPE.
Once your information is updated, you will be added to the roster for the local section and begin receiving the additional benefits of full membership.
