What is the OnePetro?
SPE has a repository of over 52,000 technical papers presented at SPE-sponsored conferences since the late 1950s and in SPE's technical journals since the early 1950s. Papers from the conferences of SPE's predecessor organization back to the 1880s have also been included. These technical documents cover the evolution of technology in drilling, completion, exploration, production, facilities, reservoir simulation, formation evaluation, safety and environmental protection, risk management, and much more. Prior to June 2009, these papers could be found in the SPE eLibrary.
Over the past couple of years, SPE has been working with other
E&P-related organizations to create a multi-society library similar to the
eLibrary. This multi-society library is called OnePetro 
and it brings together
materials from SPE, OTC, and 7 other organizations. OnePetro builds on the
eLibrary, providing everything in the eLibrary plus much more. OnePetro
provides a single place to search for solutions from many organizations.

Using OnePetro
Searching OnePetro
OnePetro includes a search engine that is optimized for
research. Tell it what you need to know (more than just a couple of
keywords) and it will find the most relevant documents for you quickly. In
addition it allows you to do advanced searches as well as specific document
look ups base on citation information or paper number. Search help
Pricing
The standard charge for SPE papers and journal articles in OnePetro is USD 6.00 for SPE members and USD 20.00 for non-members. Some papers have been priced lower based on length or type. OnePetro also includes some presentations and other documents that are free or a nominal cost. The price for a specific document is clearly identified on its preview page (the page you see when you click the title in the search results). OnePetro customers can elect to pay for their purchases in USD, GBP, or EUR.
Ordering Process
As you locate the papers you need, add them to your shopping cart. When you are ready to check out, you will be prompted to login and for the information necessary to complete your order and for your email address for delivery information. Charges can be paid with Visa, MasterCard, or American Express.
OnePetro uses Verisign's secure e-commerce payment technology. Your order is processed as a secured transaction and information you submit when ordering is encrypted for privacy while in transit. SPE does not store your credit card information beyond completion of the transaction.

Delivery Options
The OnePetro provides for electronic download of documents only. This is NOT email delivery. You will be responsible for downloading the papers you purchase from the OnePetro website either immediately, or using information provided to you via email after purchase. You will have 6 calendar days in which to download your purchases.
