February Oil and Gas Facilities Now Available

Unconventional resources are highlighted in this issue. Operators are using alternative methods of water management, including recycling and reuse of their flowback and produced water, and at the same time, reduce the volumes of flowback and produced water that have to be transported, treated, and disposed. One size does not fit all, and economic variables differ across fields, wells, and operators. Another article looks at how operators are increasingly implementing metric-driven chemical management programs. An inefficient CMP can not only be a major contributor to operating expense, but can lead to later problems with flow assurance and infrastructure integrity, such as corrosion and failures. Check out the article on the design of smallbore pipework connections. Vibration-induced fatigue failures of pipework smallbore connections due to turbulent flow excitation continue to occur in process piping systems. One of the primary causes of these failures is poor design. The article presents a method to develop the concept of a cutoff natural frequency into a practical application that can be used during the design process.
