The main objectives of modeling flows of production fluids in wells, pipelines and risers are: to predict the pressure drops, the phase distributions, the potential for unsteady phase delivery (commonly referred to as slugging) and the thermal characteristics of the system.

New Web Event Focused on Rail Car Issues

Attend a web event on “Crude by Rail Car Issues sponsored by SPE Gulf Coast Section’s Health, Safety & Environment Study Group.  Presented by David Friedman, this web event will be broadcast on 29 July.

This presentation will review the findings of a Bakken Crude Survey DOT conducted by The American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers Association (AFPM).  The AFPM survey is based on an analysis of more than 1,400 Bakken crude samples that 17 AFPM members submitted in response to a survey.  In addition, AFPM will discuss their support of a holistic approach to improving the safe transportation of crude oil by rail.
