Intelligent Wells, ICDs and AICDs: An Introduction to Advanced Completion Technology
This course introduces the technology and fundamentals of advanced well completion technologies including intelligent wells, autonomous inflow control devices, and ICDs. The course will describe the different types of advanced completions, the appropriate applications for the technology, and the value it can generate. Participants will be introduced to the petroleum engineering considerations for advanced well completion applications such as project screening, well performance modeling and reservoir simulation. This course will introduce methods and workflows by which participants can select the appropriate advanced completion technology for their application.
Why You Should Attend
If your field development plans include advanced completion technology, or if you’re wondering if they should, this course is for you. At the end of this course participants should have an awareness of:
- the elements of advanced completions and how they work,
- typical applications for advanced completions,
- the value proposition for advanced completion,
- how to select the right technology to maximize value,
- how to manage an advanced completion project
- monitoring and operating advanced completions.
Who Should Attend
This course is intended for reservoir, production, completion engineers, managers and other personnel who are interested in learning about intelligent wells, ICDs and AICDs and their potential applications.
Engineers are responsible for enhancing their professional competence throughout their careers. Licensed, chartered, and/or certified engineers are sometimes required by government entities to provide proof of continued professional development and training. Training credits are defined as Continuing Education Units (CEUs) or Professional Development Hours (PDH).
Attendees of SPE training courses earn 0.8 CEUs for each day of training. We provide each attendee a certificate upon completion of the training course.
Attendees must bring a laptop to class.
This course is available for in house training at your office location.
