From the SPE president to committee members and lecturers, volunteers provide the leadership of SPE for the benefit of other members and the industry. Join our league of dedicated members who provide the energy that makes our society work. Three simple steps will get you started.
In addition to SPE committees, you will be able to apply for positions in which you will work as an individual for a set term (i.e. eMentor) and/or positions in which are task-based (i.e. survey respondent, PetroBowl℠ Competition timekeeper, etc.). All positions will include information in regards to the estimated length of service, location (in person or online), and more.
You can continue to volunteer for your local section and community through the process already established by your section officers. Select volunteer opportunities will be included online in the case they are applicable across several local sections and/or student chapters.
Volunteer opportunities are posted as they become available and will be posted long enough for volunteers to view on a monthly basis. Standing committees typically recruit for new members in the fall. Other opportunities including eMentor, Ambassador Lecturer, and Speaker Source are available year round.
TIP: Complete your volunteer profile so that as opportunities become available that match your preferences, you are actively included in the volunteer search. (A volunteer search occurs as each position is posted and, if needed, while an opportunity is posted. It matches the opportunity to volunteer profiles in order to notify potential volunteers who would provide the best fit for the opportunity.)
If you are a current or past volunteer and your service history appears to be incomplete, please email email@example.com to update your volunteer history. We are working to add additional history to volunteer records.
While most opportunities will be limited to SPE professional members, we are eager to engage our SPE student members in meaningful ways. Look for upcoming opportunities including: event volunteers, survey respondents, content contributor, and more.
