The Technical Communities Coordinating Committee (TCCC) is responsible for all activities leading to the promotion and development of SPE’s seven (7) online Technical Communities within SPE Connect. Increasing and optimizing discussion activities, collaboration, and exchange of technical information throughout the SPE membership to create added member value. They are also charged with identifying candidates to serve and TCCC officers and making recommendations to the SPE Board of Directors regarding program expansion and strategic direction.
The Technical Communities Coordinating Committee reports to the SPE Board Committee on Membership. It is comprised of up to 15 members, two of which are appointed by the SPE President to serve as Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson. Committee members serve a two (2) year term renewable for a total of four (4) years. To assist the TCCC Chair and Vice-Chair a team of executive board members and one Technical Community Chair from each of the seven (7) Technical Communities will also be appointed members.
The Chairperson presides over all committee meetings / calls and works with SPE staff to develop meeting schedules, agendas, and minutes. He / she is selected amongst committee members and serves a two year term in this role. A Vice-Chairperson is also selected from committee members and serves under the leadership of the Chair for one year. At the end of his / her first year, the Vice-Chair will assume the leadership of the committee for another year. The outgoing TCCC Chair may serve an additional year on the committee as Past-Chair, for purposes of continuity.
