Accurate Determination of Remaining Hydrocarbon: Art or Science?
Ahmed Badruzzaman, Chevron Energy Technology Co.
2006 - 2007 SPE Distinguished Lecturer
PDF Presentation
Ahmed Badruzzaman leads the R&D effort at Chevron Energy Technology Co. to use advanced nuclear logging techniques in Chevron’s operations worldwide. At the University of California, Berkeley, he teaches the graduate course, “Subsurface Nuclear Technology.”
Badruzzaman earned a PhD degree in nuclear engineering and science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1979. His current research includes advanced saturation monitoring, nuclear spectroscopy, and “deep-look” nuclear probing. He is a Fellow of the American Nuclear Society, an SPWLA Distinguished Speaker in 2002-03, and chairman of the 1999 SPE North America Forum on cased-hole technology. In 1999-2000, he organized a group of E&P professionals to help establish the SPE Section in his native Bangladesh.
