Conference, Symposium and Regional Meeting Committees
SPE Conferences promote the exchange of technical knowledge on current and proven technologies through technical paper presentations, and may include plenary sessions, panel sessions, and ePosters. In many cases, conferences may feature an exhibition of the latest products and services. Conferences can be focused on a specific topic or have a broad technical scope. This technical information, including SPE technical papers, is further disseminated through publication in the conference proceedings. Conferences are managed by SPEI.

An SPE Symposium serves as a transition event for a topic that has matured beyond the workshop format. Symposia can provide the opportunity for authors to publish papers, but the event may not be a fully papered program. The technical program committee may invite presenters and/or select speakers through the Call for Speakers process. In many cases, symposia also feature an exhibition of the latest products and services.

A Regional Meeting is one where an SPE region or section is designated by the SPE Board to plan and manage an event. It is intended to provide for technical dissemination between the sections in a geographic region or as a topical meeting, which is targeted at individuals interested in a particular technical topic.
