I am excited to inform you that the SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition (ATCE) returns to the “Alamo City”– San Antonio, Texas, in 2017. As Program Committee Chairman, it is my pleasure to invite you to visit the city named for Saint Anthony of Padua, and participate in our premier industry event by submitting a paper proposal that shares your innovation, technical advancement, best practices, and case studies with your industry peers.

With the recent downturn, our industry has been forced to develop new and innovative ways to economically extract hydrocarbons to fuel the primary energy source for the world we live in. Come join a diverse crowd of engineers, scientists, management, and policymakers to access the new technology, innovative people, and considerable resources which will enable us to meet these new challenges and demands on our the industry.

This flagship SPE event is set for 9-11 October 2017 and is expected to attract more than 10,000 industry professionals from around the world.

ATCE: Your Destination for All Things E&P

Since the first edition 93 years ago, the Society of Petroleum Engineers' Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition (ATCE) has attracted more than a half million of the E&P industry's greatest minds from around the globe.

Reflecting our global industry, ATCE is becoming an increasingly important international event. Florence hosted ATCE in 2010, Amsterdam hosted the conference in 2014, and in 2016, it was held in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) - the first time in the Middle East.

Training courses held before and after ATCE draw attendees seeking to boost their expertise. The conference features special events designed for students and young professionals, trendsetters, and leaders in the making.

The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is a not-for-profit organization. Income from this event will be invested back into SPE to support many other Society programs. When you attend an SPE event, you help provide even more opportunities for industry professionals to enhance their technical and professional competence. Scholarships, certification, the Distinguished Lecturer program, and SPE's energy education program Energy4me are just a few examples of programs that are supported by SPE.
