BOHS (British Occupational Hygiene Society) is a science-based, charitable body that provides information, expertise and guidance in the recognition, control and management of workplace health risks. Founded in 1953, it is the only professional society representing qualified occupational hygienists in the UK and is the only occupational hygiene organisation to be awarded a Royal Charter: this was granted in April 2013 in recognition of BOHS’ unique and pre-eminent role as the leading authority in occupational disease prevention.
The Center for Chemical Process Safety was founded in 1985 shortly after the 1984 Bhopal incident to develop technology and management practices that mitigate or eliminate chemical process accidents. Since that time, CCPS has published more than 100 books and held over 30 international conferences, each representing the most advanced thinking in process safety. CCPS is supported by the contributions and voluntary participation of more than 200 companies. CCPS member companies receive benefits including learning from the best in the industry, discounts on books and courses, special workshops, and an extended network of contacts. CCPS is also the world’s largest provider of undergraduate engineering curriculum materials through its SACHE program, with more than 160 universities around the world participating.
