SPE Workshop Webinar
Rate Transient Analysis (RTA)/ Pressure Transient Analysis (PTA)
About the Workshop Webinar
This Webinar focuses on the use of pressure transient analysis (PTA) for short-term pressure data and Rate Transient Analysis (RTA) for the diagnostic interpretation and model-based analyses of long-term production rate and pressure data as a means to characterize the performance of wells in unconventional reservoirs.
This webinar was developed by the SPE Workshop: New Perspectives in Well Performance Analysis and Production Forecasting Program Committee

0830–0930 Session 1: Multiphase (Oil or Gas Condensate)
The goal of this session is to have three analysts describe and present their workflows and results in analyzing the same well.
- Hamidreza Hamdi, University of Calgary
- Irina Kostyleva, Kappa
- Mathias Carlsen, Whitson
0940–1040 Session 2: Completion Design
The goal of this session is to have three analysts analyze two or more wells and compare which completion type was "better."
- Dilhan Ilk, DeGolyer and MacNaughton
- Robert Archer, Hess Corporation
- David Jones, Chesapeake Energy Corp.
1050–1150 Session 3: Re-Stimulated
The goal of this session is to have three analysts describe and present how they would analyze and determine how successful (or unsuccessful?) a refract was to a well.
- David Craig, Occidental Oil & Gas Corporation
- Mark McClure, ResFrac Corporation
- James Ewert, IHS
