In Memoriam: Jerry Hubbard

Jerry Hubbard, SPE, died at his home in Houston, Texas, on 1 January 2015. He was 63 years old. Most recently, Hubbard served as president and CEO of Energistics, an international energy standards organization. During his tenure, the number of active corporate members increased from 60 to more than 125 at the organization. Hubbard was instrumental in the development and adoption of global electronic business standards for the oil and gas industry while serving as director of the Standards & Guidelines Committee for the Petroleum Industry Data Exchange Subcommittee (PIDX) of the American Petroleum Institute. He was a founding member of the PIDX Europe executive committee and was on the steering committee of the United Nations Standard Products and Services Code. Hubbard held a BS in natural resource economics and an MS in science management, both from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
