Tecpetrol finished drilling and testing its Secoya Oeste—A001 exploration well in the Oriente Basin of Ecuador. The well encountered a net 33 ft of pay. The Lower U sandstone reservoir tested at an average gross rate of 972 BOPD of 27 °API gravity oil with a 10% water cut over the course of a 50-hour test using a jet pump. The Upper U sandstone tested at an average gross rate of 326 BOPD of 29 °API gravity oil with an 8% water cut over 53 hours. Tecpetrol (40%) is the operator with Canacol Energy(25%), Schlumberger (20%), and Sertecpet (15%).
