ABB received an order worth USD 155 million from Statoil to provide systems and equipment to two converter stations linking the Johan Sverdrup field with the onshore power grid. Located in the Norwegian North Sea, the four platforms that make up the first phase of the development will be entirely powered from shore using the systems supplied by ABB. The company will design, engineer, supply, and commission the equipment for two ±80-kV, 100-MW high-voltage converter stations.
