Chile’s ENAP and Argentina’s YPF have initiated a $354-million project to boost natural gas production from facilities off the southern tip of South America. The initiative encompasses five existing ENAP-operated platforms at the eastern edge of the Straits of Magellan in Argentina’s Santa Cruz province. When completed, the project will increase gas production by 141.26 MMcf/D, from today’s level of 84.74 MMcf/D, and boost liquids production by almost 25%.
