Savannah Petroleum has discovered oil at the Bushiya-1 exploration well in southeastern Niger. Drilled to a 7,217-ft total measured depth, the well encountered an estimated 33 ft of net oil-bearing reservoir sandstones across two intervals in the Eocene Sokor Alternances, the company said. Wireline logs show “excellent quality” reservoir properties in both sections, according to Savannah. The well is being suspended for future re-entry.
