Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSAN) gave its consent for Equinor to drill exploration well 6406/2-9 S, in Block 6406/2 in the Norwegian Sea. The well aims to investigate a prospect named Ragnfrid Nord just south of the Kristin field in the central Norwegian Sea. Water depth at the site is 912 ft. Drilling is scheduled to begin in early June and is estimated to last for 81 days, depending on whether a discovery is made. The well will be drilled by the West Phoenix semisubmersible mobile drilling rig.
