David Paterson, SPE, was appointed president of pressure pumping at Weir Oil & Gas. He will be based in Fort Worth, Texas, and will be responsible for managing the company’s pressure pumping business, overseeing the strategic direction of all global operations, manufacturing, and service footprint. Paterson has more than 2 decades of experience in the oil and gas sector. He was previously president of artificial lift at Schlumberger since 2016. He joined Schlumberger as a field engineer with Dowell in 1995 and worked in field, operational, and management roles in Schlumberger and its M-I SWACO joint venture with Smith. His roles there included country manager for Indonesia, Asia Pacific vice president, Eastern Hemisphere senior vice president, global product lines vice president, and drilling group vice president for Asia, and president, geoservices. Paterson holds a bachelor of science and a master of science in offshore engineering from the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen.
