Steve Gray was appointed a member of Range Resources’ board of directors. The appointment was mutually agreed upon by Range’s board of directors and SailingStone Capital Partners. As of 9 July, SailingStone held approximately 17% of Range’s shares outstanding. Gray will serve on the board’s compensation committee. Previously, he was a founder, director, and CEO of RSP Permian from its inception in 2010 to 2018. Upon RSP Permian’s merger with Concho Resources, he became a member of Concho’s board reserves committee. Before that he founded oil and gas ventures for nearly 20 years in partnerships with Natural Gas Partners. Gray is on the board of directors of the Texas Tech Foundation. He is a member of the Petroleum Engineering Academy and serves on the Dean’s Advisory Council for the College of Engineering at Texas Tech University. He is also a member of the Executive Advisory Council of the George W. Bush Presidential Center in Dallas. Gray holds a BS in petroleum engineering from Texas Tech, and received the national Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for Energy and Clean-Tech category in 2016.
